I’m playing my first show of the year at the Royal Room in Seattle on Tuesday, Jan 21st, opening for Finnish guitar wizard Olli Hirvonen. The fun starts at 8pm and reservations are available at Royal Room. Come bliss out!
After a long break I'm bringing Live Atmospheres back to the Storyville Roasting Studio on Bainbridge Island. From 9am - 1pm I'll be improvising and live looping, doing my best to conjure a world of sound that is simpatico with the consumption of Saturday coffee. Come take a breath after the week or get amped for your weekend!
I'll be joining the scrumtrulescent Mike Baggetta's Torch Songs for a few sets at Barley's. Mike is a level 17 Guitar Wizard, and the pleasure will be all mine. With Brock Henderson - Pedal Steel, Daniel Kimbro - Bass, and Buddy Honeycutt - Drums. DAMN!

I'm stoked to be playing in Nashville with the delightful guitarist and author Michael Ross, aka "prehab." Looks like a beautiful venue, as well.

Join us for a special workshop featuring musician Dan Phelps, who specializes in
“sonic experimentation.” Dan is constantly working on his own projects and collaborations, and his current fascination is improvising ambient soundscapes. In this workshop, Dan will discuss his artistic process and how he creates his own personal sound.
The workshop at 3:30 PM will be followed by a concert at 7:30 PM, with doors opening at 7 PM. This event is open to all students and faculty, and guests are welcome.

I'll be one of many amazing performers from around the globe at this two-day long festival dedicated to looping. The festival is all day Saturday and Sunday. I'll be performing at 4pm on Saturday. Admission is $15 at the door.

"Dan Phelps is an artist/musician/producer living in Seattle, WA. His improvisation based work travels deep into the details of texture and timbre. His releases include Modular, a collaboration with Matt Chamberlain and Viktor Krauss, and his latest release, Arc, which is built on improvisations with drumming legend Jim Keltner. For his live performances he improvises walls of ambience and shifting textures, moving seamlessly from abstract sheets of celestial sound, roots guitar, and astringent noise."
